6. How long does treatment last?
The length of treatment varies. Treatment is tailored to meet individual needs, with options ranging from acute inpatient treatment and longer term residential treatment to outpatient therapy:

  1. Acute Inpatient - Treatment for all ages needing 24-hour nursing and daily, active treatment under the direction of a psychiatrist in a therapeutic environment, providing stabilization services for patients experiencing acute symptoms for chemical dependency or other real time psychological needs.

  2. Adolescent Residential Treatment - Long-term treatment for emotional and behavioral issues for children and adolescents.

  3. Partial Hospitalization - Immediate access to a confidential and structured environment while allowing patients to return home at night to the support of their family and comfort of a familiar setting.  The goal is to provide a viable alternative to inpatient or bridge the gap between inpatient treatment and the ability to benefit from outpatient treatment.

  4. Intensive Outpatient - Specialized Program that provides intensive psychiatric services for patients who find it difficult to function in their community environment.  Provides intensive individual, family and group therapies on an outpatient basis while maintaining the patient within his/her social support system.

Focus is on preventing a decline in functioning and symptom reduction, as well as eliminating the need for more restrictive treatment (such as inpatient or partial hospitalization).  Also offers these services as ongoing support following an individual's discharge from hospitalization or partial hospitalization.

Focuses on helping patients achieve a feeling of safety, which will empower them to develop dignity and build character, and allow them to transform issues into skills for positive daily functioning.

  5. Outpatient Services - Individual, group, marriage and family counseling, and therapy combined with medication support.
